I know I have been bragging a lot lately on L but he really deserves it. Miss K is loving the change as well. It is heartwarming to see the two together.
Yesterday both our girls stayed with their great-grandparents so L and I made a last minute decision to go on a date night. It was very relaxed, just the two of us. So many people are able to take times like that for granted.
On our way home we stopped at Target where the stress of the past week caught up with him. He NEEDED to buy something. We made it out there without buying anything but he was getting more and more agitated and louder and louder. Yet even through all of this he did much better than in the past in similar situations. By the time we got home he had calmed down and was able to apologize.
He took this setback very hard at first. Saying he was a terrible person, not worthy of anything... I kept reminding him that he had been doing wonderful and that setbacks are normal. Most importantly though that even through this small setback he was showing so much improvement.
When I got up this morning he had written a song. His songs tend to be on the more depressed side but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a very hopeful song talking about having been found and finally being able to stay in the light.
I, personally, LOVE birthdays. L, not so much. In fact, he could go without celebrating it all together (as long as he gets cake and present...
