A few days late and probably a few pennies short but here is my look at #mhm2010 and what it meant to me. For me it came at the perfect time. I had just joined the weekly #mhsm chat (Mental Health Social Media) shortly before that, had started rebuilding my blog and was beginning to find people to connect with in the world that is social media.
The month of May gave me the opportunity to broaden my horizon even more and to connect with even more people. I think had it not been for all of this I might have lost my momentum again. Instead, it gave me a new sense of direction and showed me that what I had envisioned for my blog was not just a dream but was something that could become a reality.
I personally enjoyed the daily tweets/faceook status updates from wegohealth.com and I hope that you did as well. I learned a lot this past month. Not just about various mental health issues but also about myself, where I want to take this blog and my activism.
Amy (@abeeliever ) and her #mhsm chat inspired my next step. For a long time I have been complaining about the lack of support for friends and family of those with mental health issues. I finally decided to take matters into my own hands and am trying to establish my own tweet chat. The hashtag for it will be ojtl (short for 'Our Journey Through Life') and the second attempt for that will be tonight at 9PM CST. You can follow us at http://tweetchat.com/room/ojtl and I hope to see you there!
