Yesterday was another day of L being mopy and of him sleeping way too much. We did try to go to the 'Rodeo Roundup' our church had last night but got rained out thanks to a lovely thunderstorm. After the girls went to bed L wanted to 'have a talk'. That talk though apparently did not include listening to my side of things because he 'knows [my] side of things and [doesn't] want to hear it again'. 15 minutes into the conversation he got up and left the room.
After a short break we continued our talk and I finally told him that he HAD to start believing in himself. That me believing in him was not enough. That his complete lack of self-worth was not just having an effect on me but also on our girls. There was a lot more to our talk but in the end he promised to at the very least try. It might not sound like much but it is a big first step. Here's to a change for the better that will hopefully follow.
