What happened to The Love Dare?

Confession Time... If you have been wondering what happened to the love dare, I will have to admit that we dropped the ball on that one. I made it to dare 19 while L gave up after dare 7 or so. I guess it just wasn't for us. I do have to say that I enjoyed some of the challenges and it gave me a lot of food for thought and I hope it did for you as well.

For L there were a few challenges early on that were 'too much'. He tends to dwell on negative thoughts and the challenge about making a list of all things negative about me would have not been good for him (and us). I will continue to read the book and if anything really jumps out at me I will make sure to share it with you. For now, I will take what I learned and try to continue to apply it to our relationship.

Did he want to focus on the negative so that you could change them to positives?

The dare was to make two lists. One about all the positives about your partner/relationship and one about all the negatives. The goal was to focus on list A and the next day to burn list B.

Part of his mental health issues is causing him to be very insecure about himself and to 'overthink' everything. Just the thought of me making such a list about him was making him very anxious. Had we gone through with the dare it would have likely send him into a panic attack.

I just bought the book and I'm going to ask my husband to do it with me.

I think the fact that you made it as far as you did is wonderful. It's completely understandable that you had an extra "variable" that made it difficult to continue as a couple.

@Heather I hope you will enjoy it! Let me know how it goes for you.
